A manuscript depiction of Tom and Goldberry, two of my favourite characters from Tolkien’s books.
Originally painted in Gouache on manuscript board and highlighted with gold powder and gold leaf.
Tom looks lovingly at the river woman daughter who cradles fresh waterlillies. Inset with an illuminated initial with the Hobbits.
